Having come across Robert Charboneau’s Men Who Think of Rome which is an example of a Triolet and links to a good post explaining them I thought I’d join the club and share my own attempt.
Although I am too late for the contest, I am generally in favour of playing with poetic structures and still working away on a poetry book for 2025.
Our hero strides through shadows dark
Outside laws and limits of the city bright.
The world’s pressures leaving their mark
Our hero strides through shadows dark.
Yet from those shadows he is the spark
Who kindles the new world’s light.
Our hero strides through shadows dark
Outside laws and limits of the city bright.
